The Ruins of Innistrad
Located to the South-west of Ambermore, the ruins of the town of Innistrad have laid uninhabited for hundreds of years. The town is placed up against the mountains, with the only roads leading to the town now heavily signposted against entering the town’s vicinity, reading “Danger: Entry to Innistrad presents an extreme danger to mind and body. A danger which exists in our time and forever.” At the entrance to the town proper a massive stone monolith etched with warnings blocks the path entering the town.
The Monolith reads the following warning:
“This place is a message and part of a system of messages…. Pay attention to it.
This place is not a place of honour, no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here.
Nothing of value is here. What is here is dangerous and repulsive to us. This is a message about danger.
The danger is in a particular location. It increases towards a centre of a particular size and shape. The centre rests below us.
The danger is present in your times, as it was in ours. The danger is to the body and the mind, and it can kill.
The danger is released only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited."
